Our staff provide short and longer term family counselling as well as brief interventions and appropriate referral pathways for families involved in alcohol and other drug treatment at ReGen.
If you have some questions or concerns regarding a loved one’s substance use but are not interested in ongoing counselling the Single Session Family Service may be appropriate for you and/or your family.
Family and Friends Support Group
Facilitated by family members from Family Drug Help, this monthly group is offered to all family and friends of individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use. The two-hour group is run after-hours. Pizza is available.
Family Methamphetamine First Aid Program
The program has been designed specifically for family members concerned or affected by a loved one’s use of methamphetamine (Ice). This program has been developed collaboratively with people who have a lived experience of the impacts of methamphetamine use on individual and family members’ wellbeing. The FREE, 2.5 hour program provides essential information and practical strategies to support all members of affected families.
Action-based Recovery Course (ARC)
Family Drug Help runs a six week educational course to provide you with knowledge and skills to better understand the complexities of addiction. It explores ways of improving your relationships, offers simple strategies for coping with anxiety and depression and helps you plan a positive future.
Playgroup is an opportunity for parents and or carers of pre-school aged children (0-5 years) to participate in a Playgroup. This is a program specifically designed to support families who have complex needs. These needs may include substance use, social isolation, family violence, mental illness, grandparents as carers, newly arrived among others. It is facilitated by staff who have training in alcohol and other drug treatment and/or childcare.
'Caring Dads' Program
To be delivered in partnership with the Children's Protection Society, this new program will be commencing in September 2016.

HYP-D Services works in the Hume region with young people and their families on alcohol and other drug issues.
