Melbourne, VIC, 18th July 2016 – UnitingCare ReGen today mourns the loss of our dear friend and former colleague Jim Carlton.

Responding to news of his passing, ReGen CEO Laurence Alvis said:

Jim has provided generous, considered and grounded support for people who provide and who use AOD treatment services in Victoria. His work with young people, adults, family members and colleagues at Jesuit Social Services, ReGen (for 15 years) and (most recently) Sunbury Community Health has had a powerful and enduring impact.

He has been a mentor, a counsellor and (most importantly) a friend to countless people over his years of service to the sector and to those affected by AOD use. His loss will be deeply felt by all those who had the privilege to work beside him and those whose lives have been enriched by his respectful, compassionate and genuinely nurturing practice.

Our thoughts are with Jim’s family at this very difficult time. Details of opportunities to remember Jim and his work will be confirmed shortly.
